The North Pole
The North Pole is the northernmost point on Earth, located at the very top of the planet's globe. It sits in the Arctic Ocean, covered by a shifting sea ice sheet rather than land. During winter, temperatures can drop extremely low, while summers see a continuous period of daylight. The region is important for scientific research, climate studies, and understanding Arctic ecosystems. Unlike the South Pole, which is on a continent (Antarctica), the North Pole’s ice floats on water, making it a dynamic and changing environment shaped by ocean currents and seasonal ice movement.
