The Newtonian Telescope
The Newtonian Telescope, invented by Sir Isaac Newton, is a type of reflecting telescope that uses a curved mirror to gather and focus light. Light enters the large main mirror at the back, reflects to a smaller secondary mirror, and then directs the image to an eyepiece on the side of the telescope. This design reduces chromatic aberration found in earlier telescopes and allows for a more compact structure. It’s widely used for amateur and professional astronomy because it provides clear, detailed views of celestial objects such as planets, stars, and galaxies.
