The New Freedom
The New Freedom was a policy approach championed by President Woodrow Wilson during his 1912 campaign. It aimed to restore competition in the economy by reducing monopolies, regulating big businesses, and promoting fair opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs. The goal was to create a more open and equitable marketplace, preventing large corporations from dominating industries and restricting consumer choices. Essentially, it focused on strengthening economic freedom for individuals and small businesses through stronger antitrust laws, banking reforms, and other regulations to ensure a healthier, more competitive economy.
