The New American Century
The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) was a think tank formed in 1997 that promoted the idea of America maintaining global leadership through military strength and strategic influence. It supported policies to strengthen the U.S. military, spread democracy, and shape international affairs, especially after the Cold War. Critics viewed it as advocating for increased intervention and military dominance worldwide, while supporters saw it as promoting national security and global stability. The organization disbanded in 2006, but its ideas have influenced U.S. foreign policy debates regarding interventionism and international leadership.
