The Nature of Complex Systems

Complex systems are networks of many interconnected parts that interact in ways producing unpredictable and dynamic behavior. Examples include the brain, ecosystems, economies, and social networks. Their behavior cannot be understood just by examining individual components alone; instead, it arises from the interactions within the whole system. Studying complex systems helps us understand how such interconnected networks function, adapt, and sometimes become unpredictable or resilient, providing insights across various scientific and real-world contexts.
