The Nature of Color

Color is how our brains perceive different wavelengths of light reflected or emitted by objects. Light consists of a spectrum of wavelengths, each corresponding to a specific color. When light hits an object, some wavelengths are absorbed, and others are reflected. Our eyes detect these reflected wavelengths using specialized cells called cones, which send signals to the brain. The brain interprets these signals as colors. Essentially, color is not inherent to objects but is a perceptual experience created by the interaction between light, objects, and our visual system.
