The Naturalistic Fallacy
The naturalistic fallacy is a mistake in reasoning where someone tries to define what is morally right or good based solely on what is natural or how things naturally are. For example, assuming something is good because it is "natural" or bad because it is "unnatural." This reasoning is flawed because nature doesn’t necessarily inform us about moral values; what exists naturally doesn’t automatically mean it’s right or proper. Ethical judgments require separate reasoning beyond just observing natural phenomena.
