The National Aboriginal Health Organization (NAHO)
The National Aboriginal Health Organization (NAHO) was a Canadian organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Indigenous peoples, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities. It provided research, resources, and policy advice to promote culturally appropriate healthcare, address health disparities, and support Indigenous-led health initiatives. NAHO aimed to ensure that Indigenous voices were central in health planning and services, fostering better health outcomes through collaboration and knowledge-sharing. Although it ceased operations in 2012, its work contributed significantly to understanding and addressing Indigenous health issues in Canada.
