The Ministry of Information (UK)
The Ministry of Information (MOI) was a British government department created during World War II, established in 1939. Its primary role was to manage information, propaganda, and communication to support the war effort and maintain public morale. The MOI conveyed news, promoted government policies, and countered enemy propaganda. It also coordinated with the press, produced pamphlets, and utilized radio broadcasts to ensure accurate information reached the public. The Ministry was disbanded after the war in 1945, but its work highlighted the importance of effective communication during times of crisis.
