The Milner Model
The Milner Model, also known as the three-stage model of memory, explains how our brain processes information over time. It states that there are three main types of memory: sensory memory (briefly holds sensory info), short-term memory (keeps info temporarily for immediate use), and long-term memory (stores info permanently). Information moves from sensory to short-term through attention, and from short-term to long-term through rehearsal. This model helps us understand how we remember things, forget them, and how different types of memory work together to support learning and recall.
