The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were eight international targets set by countries worldwide to address key issues like poverty, hunger, disease, education, gender equality, environmental sustainability, and global partnership. Adopted in 2000, these goals aimed to improve the lives of the world's poorest by 2015 through focused efforts and measurable outcomes. They helped mobilize resources, coordinate action, and track progress. Although some goals were achieved, others faced challenges, leading to the development of the subsequent Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to continue the global effort toward a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable world.
