The Micronutrient Initiative
The Micronutrient Initiative (MI) is a global organization dedicated to improving public health through the promotion of essential vitamins and minerals—known as micronutrients—for vulnerable populations. Micronutrients like vitamin A, iron, and zinc are vital for proper growth, immune function, and development. MI works with governments, communities, and other partners to increase access to nutritious foods, develop supplementation and fortification programs, and raise awareness about nutritional deficiencies. Their goal is to reduce malnutrition-related illnesses and improve health outcomes, especially for children and pregnant women in low-income regions.
