The Method (theatrical technique)

The Method is a theatrical technique where actors draw on their personal emotions and experiences to create authentic, heartfelt performances. Developed by Constantin Stanislavski and later refined by Lee Strasberg, it encourages actors to empathize deeply with their characters by recalling real feelings and situations from their own lives. This approach helps actors deliver more genuine and believable portrayals, making the audience feel a stronger emotional connection. In essence, it’s about internalizing the character's motivations and emotions, rather than just miming or performing externally.
