The Mechanical Television
Mechanical television was an early form of TV technology that used spinning disks with holes or grooves to scan and recreate moving images. Inside the receiver, a rotating disc with tiny holes would pass light through a camera or image source, converting visual information into electrical signals. These signals then controlled a similar disk at the receiver, which synchronized with the transmitter. As the disk spun, it would modulate light to recreate the image on a screen. While innovative for its time, mechanical television was limited by image quality and reliability compared to later electronic systems, and it was eventually replaced by fully electronic television technologies.
