The Martyrs of Uganda

The Martyrs of Uganda were a group of 22 Catholic and Anglican Christians who were killed in 1885 in Uganda for refusing to renounce their faith. They, including adolescents and elders, believed strongly in Christianity and chose to face death rather than abandon their beliefs under pressure from King Kabaka Mwanga. Their sacrifice symbolized unwavering faith and courage, inspiring many and leading to their canonization as saints, emphasizing the importance of religious conviction and moral integrity even in the face of extreme danger.
