The Manipuri are an ethnic group primarily from the northeastern Indian state of Manipur. They have a rich cultural heritage, known for their classical dance form, Manipuri, which is both expressive and deeply rooted in their traditions. The Manipuri community practices Hinduism and influences from indigenous animist beliefs. They speak the Manipuri language, also called Meitei.
