The Maid of Orleans

The Maid of Orleans, also known as Joan of Arc, was a young French woman who, in the early 15th century, believed she was called by divine guidance to help her country. She convincing French leaders to let her lead armies against the English during the Hundred Years' War. Her leadership played a key role in lifting French morale and achieving military wins. Eventually captured by the English, she was tried for heresy and burned at the stake in 1431. Later, she was canonized as a saint, recognized for her faith, courage, and impact on French history.
