The Long Walk

"The Long Walk," by Stephen King (written under his pseudonym Richard Bachman), is a novel about a dystopian contest in which 100 teenagers participate in a brutal, marathon-style walk across a deserted landscape. They must maintain a pace above a certain speed; falling behind or breaking the rules results in deadly consequences. As the walk progresses, the story explores themes of survival, endurance, and the psychological toll of extreme challenge. The last remaining participant is declared the winner, but the journey reveals the personal struggles and resilience of each individual in the face of relentless pressure.
