The LISA Project
The LISA Project is a scientific initiative designed to detect and study gravitational waves—ripples in spacetime caused by massive cosmic events like merging black holes or neutron stars. Using a space-based observatory consisting of three spacecraft arranged in a triangle, LISA measures tiny changes in distances between the spacecraft to identify these waves. By doing so, it aims to uncover new insights into the universe's most violent phenomena, expand our understanding of gravity, and explore regions of space that are impossible to observe with traditional telescopes.
