The Lionheart (historical figure)
King Richard I of England, known as Richard the Lionheart, was a 12th-century monarch famed for his bravery and martial prowess. Reigning from 1189 to 1199, he was celebrated as a warrior king who led military campaigns during the Crusades, aiming to reclaim Jerusalem. Despite his reputation as a fearless and skilled fighter, he spent little time in England, focusing instead on his military and royal duties elsewhere. His leadership and heroic image have made him a legendary figure in both history and popular culture.
