The Light Bulb

A light bulb is a device that produces light through electrical energy. When electricity flows through its filament (usually made of tungsten), the filament heats up incredibly and glows, emitting visible light. This process is called incandescence. Modern bulbs like LEDs (light-emitting diodes) use different technology: they produce light when electrical currents pass through semiconductors, making them more energy-efficient. Overall, a light bulb converts electrical energy into visible light, illuminating spaces and enabling us to see indoors and outdoors effectively.
