Yukio Mishima was a renowned Japanese author, playwright, and nationalist born in 1925. Mishima's works include famous titles like *Confessions of a Mask* and *The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea*. Later in life, he became increasingly interested in martial arts and political activism. In 1970, he attempted a coup d’état at a military base but ultimately committed ritual suicide (seppuku).
