The Learning Brain
The learning brain is our brain's ability to change and adapt by forming new connections between neurons, known as synapses. When we learn new things or practice skills, these connections strengthen, making our responses quicker and more efficient. This process, called neuroplasticity, allows the brain to rewire itself throughout life in response to experiences, challenges, and learning. It involves various regions working together, especially the hippocampus for memory and the cortex for thinking and planning. Understanding this helps us appreciate that learning is an ongoing, dynamic process shaped by effort, environment, and neural change.
