A lance is a long, spear-like weapon traditionally used by knights and mounted soldiers in medieval warfare. Typically made of wood with a pointed metal tip, it could be several meters long, allowing a rider to strike an opponent from a distance while maintaining balance on horseback. Lances were primarily used in jousting and combat to penetrate armor or unseat enemies. Over time, their use declined with advancements in warfare, but they remain a symbol of chivalry and medieval martial culture.
