The Kuiper Belt

The Kuiper Belt is a region beyond Neptune's orbit, extending roughly from 30 to 55 astronomical units from the Sun. It contains many small icy bodies, including dwarf planets like Pluto, as well as comets and other remnants from the solar system’s formation. Think of it as a vast, icy debris field that preserves some of the original building blocks of our solar system, giving scientists clues about its early history. The Kuiper Belt is analogous to the asteroid belt but consists mostly of frozen materials rather than rocky objects.
