The Kill Chain

The Kill Chain is a cybersecurity framework that describes the steps hackers use to carry out a cyber attack. It begins with identifying a target, then gaining access, establishing a foothold, escalating privileges, gathering information, maintaining access, and finally executing the attack or causing damage. Understanding each phase helps defenders detect and interrupt attacks early, preventing them from succeeding. Essentially, it maps out the hacker's process to better defend against cyber threats.
