The Kaaba

The Kaaba is a sacred, cube-shaped structure located in the center of the Masjid al-Haram mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is the holiest site in Islam, serving as the qibla, the direction Muslims face during prayer. Built originally by Prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael, it symbolizes monotheism and unity among Muslims. Pilgrims perform a ritual called Hajj by circumambulating the Kaaba seven times. The structure is covered with a black cloth called the Kiswa, embroidered with gold. The Kaaba stands as a central spiritual focal point for millions of Muslims worldwide.
