The Joint Staff

The Joint Staff is a team of senior military leaders from different branches (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard) who work together to coordinate and support U.S. military operations worldwide. They help the President and Defense Secretary make informed decisions by providing strategic planning, intelligence, and logistical advice. The Joint Staff doesn't command troops directly but serves as a central hub for ensuring the different military branches operate effectively and in harmony during national security efforts.
