The Joint Chiefs of Staff

The Joint Chiefs of Staff is a group of senior military leaders from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Space Force. They advise the President, Secretary of Defense, and National Security Council on military matters, strategies, and policies. Although they do not command troops directly, they provide expert guidance to help ensure the military is ready, coordinated, and effective.
