The Job Characteristics Model
The Job Characteristics Model is a framework that identifies five key factors of a job that can influence a person's motivation and satisfaction at work. These factors are skill variety (using different skills), task identity (completing a whole task), task significance (impact on others), autonomy (independence in work), and feedback (information on performance). When jobs include these elements, employees tend to feel more engaged and fulfilled, leading to better performance and job satisfaction. Essentially, the model shows how the design of a job can enhance an employee's experience and productivity.
