the interplay of conceptual and non-conceptual content
Conceptual content involves understanding ideas through mental categories and language, such as knowing what "justice" or "dog" means. Non-conceptual content refers to raw experiences or perceptions that don’t rely on recognitional thought, like seeing a color or feeling the warmth of the sun. These two interact because perception (non-conceptual) provides the raw data that our mind then interprets using concepts (conceptual). For example, you see a shape (non-conceptual) and identify it as a dog (conceptual). This interplay allows us to experience the world directly while also applying knowledge and language to make sense of it.
