The International Workers' Association

The International Workers' Association (IWA) is a global federation established in 1922 that brings together anarcho-syndicalist labor unions and workers’ organizations. Its goal is to promote workers' rights, self-management, and direct action through solidarity and decentralized, autonomous unions. The IWA seeks to create a system where workers have direct control over workplaces and economic decision-making, rather than relying on government or corporate authority. It emphasizes grassroots organization, workers’ solidarity across borders, and the idea that workers themselves should run industries to achieve true social and economic equality.
