The Interheart Study
The INTERHEART Study is a large international research project that examined the factors influencing heart attack risk worldwide. It identified both lifestyle and medical factors—such as smoking, high blood pressure, cholesterol levels, diabetes, stress, and physical activity—that significantly contribute to the likelihood of having a heart attack. The study showed that many of these risk factors are common across different countries and populations, emphasizing the importance of managing these factors through healthy habits and healthcare to prevent heart disease globally.
