The Inter-American System

The Inter-American System is a collection of treaties, institutions, and organizations designed to promote democracy, human rights, and development across the Americas. It includes the Organization of American States (OAS), which facilitates cooperation among countries, resolves conflicts, and defends democratic principles. The system works through diplomatic dialogue, legal agreements, and regional initiatives to ensure peace, stability, and respect for rights among countries in North, Central, and South America. Essentially, it’s a collaborative effort to foster good governance, protect freedoms, and address shared challenges within the Western Hemisphere.
