The Innateness Hypothesis
The Innateness Hypothesis suggests that humans are born with some natural ability for language. It proposes that certain aspects of language, such as grammar and syntax, are hardwired into our brains by evolution, rather than learned entirely through experience. This idea, associated with linguist Noam Chomsky, implies that our capacity for language is an innate part of our biology, making it easier for children to acquire complex language skills quickly and universally across different languages, despite variations in vocabulary and pronunciation.
