The Industrial Accident Commission
The Industrial Accident Commission (IAC) was a government agency responsible for managing workers’ compensation claims in California. It ensured that injured workers received benefits for medical treatment, lost wages, and disability. The IAC also helped resolve disputes between workers and employers over injuries and compensation. Its goal was to promote safe working conditions and provide prompt support for workers harmed on the job. The IAC has since been integrated into the California Department of Industrial Relations, continuing its mission to protect workers’ rights and ensure fair treatment after workplace injuries.
