The Indonesian government
The Indonesian government is a democratic republic led by a president who serves as both head of state and government. It has three branches: the executive (president and cabinet), responsible for implementing laws; the legislative (People’s Consultative Assembly, including the House of Representatives), which makes laws; and the judiciary, ensuring laws follow the constitution. Indonesia’s government operates within a constitution that promotes democracy, decentralizes power to regional governments, and values diversity. It aims to balance national unity with local autonomy, addressing the complex needs of its vast and diverse population.
