The Indian Wars
The Indian Wars refer to a series of conflicts between Native American tribes and European-American settlers and the U.S. government from the 1600s to the late 1800s. These wars occurred as settlers expanded westward, encroaching on Native lands, and Native tribes resisted losing their territory and way of life. The conflicts included battles, treaties, relocations, and massacres, often resulting in the displacement and suffering of Native peoples. The wars significantly impacted Native communities, ultimately leading to their confinement to reservations and the loss of traditional lands and cultures.
