The Inca

The Inca were a prominent civilization in South America, primarily located in present-day Peru, from the early 15th to the early 16th century. They established a vast empire, known for its impressive architecture, extensive road systems, and agricultural innovations, including terrace farming. The Incas had a centralized government and practiced a unique form of social organization, where community welfare was emphasized. Their most famous site is Machu Picchu. The empire fell to Spanish conquistadors led by Francisco Pizarro in the 1530s, leading to significant cultural and demographic changes in the region.
