The Hub

A hub is a simple networking device used to connect multiple computers or devices within a local area network (LAN). It acts as a central point that receives data from one device and sends it to all others connected to it. This means that when a device sends data, the hub distributes it to all connected devices, regardless of the intended recipient. While inexpensive and easy to use, hubs are less efficient than more advanced devices like switches because they can lead to unnecessary data traffic and potential network congestion.
