The Housing Corporation
The Housing Corporation was a UK public organization responsible for promoting and regulating affordable, quality housing, primarily focusing on social and affordable rental homes. It provided funding and oversight to ensure that housing associations built and maintained safe, affordable homes for people who couldn’t afford market rates. The Corporation aimed to improve housing standards, support community development, and increase access to affordable living options. In 2008, it was integrated into the Homes and Communities Agency, now known as the Homes England, which continues to oversee housing development and affordability in England.
