The History of the Life of Edward IV

Edward IV (1442–1483) was a key English king from the House of York, notable for ending the Wars of the Roses and restoring stability to England. He became king in 1461, despite opposition, and reigned until 1470, when he was briefly deposed by the Lancastrians. He regained the throne in 1471 after victories at battles like Tewkesbury. Edward worked to strengthen royal authority and improve the economy. His reign was interrupted by political turmoil, and he died suddenly in 1483, leaving his young son Edward V to succeed him. His leadership helped shape England’s turbulent late medieval history.
