The History of Soviet Russia
Soviet Russia, or the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, emerged from the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution, which overthrew the centuries-old monarchy and established a communist government. Led by Vladimir Lenin, it aimed to create a classless society, leading to the formation of the Soviet Union in 1922, a federation of multiple republics. The USSR grew rapidly industrially but faced political repression, civil war, and economic challenges. Under leaders like Stalin, it became a major world power, influencing global politics during the Cold War. The Soviet Union dissolved in 1991, transforming into Russia and independent states, ending its communist regime.
