The Gut Feeling (theory)
"Guesswork" or "The Gut Feeling" theory suggests that our bodies can instinctively sense information or risks before our conscious mind becomes aware. Often, this feeling originates in the gut—hence the name—where thousands of neurons work similarly to a brain, processing subtle signals from our environment, body, or emotional state. These signals can influence our subconscious decision-making, leading us to feel immediate trust, unease, or intuition about a situation or person. Essentially, our bodies pick up on cues that our conscious mind may not explicitly recognize, guiding our choices based on accumulated, often subconscious, knowledge.
