"The Green River Killer" (nickname)
The Green River Killer is the nickname for Gary Ridgway, a notorious American serial killer who murdered at least 71 women from the early 1980s to the 1990s in Washington State. His moniker comes from the Green River, where many of his victims’ bodies were found. Ridgway targeted vulnerable women, often sex workers or those with substance abuse issues. He was known for his methodical approach and later admitted to killing even more women. In 2003, he was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
