The Green Flash

The Green Flash is a rare optical phenomenon that occurs shortly after sunset or just before sunrise, when a brief, vivid green patch appears above the horizon. It results from the Earth's atmosphere acting like a prism, bending and splitting sunlight into different colors. As the sun dips below the horizon, the green light, being slightly shorter in wavelength, is refracted more than other colors, creating this fleeting green flash. Usually seen over calm, unobstructed horizons like the ocean, it lasts only a few seconds, making it a stunning and intriguing natural spectacle.
