The Great Perfection (Dzogchen)

The Great Perfection, or Dzogchen, is a Tibetan Buddhist teaching emphasizing the innate purity and awakened nature of all beings. It encourages direct recognition of the natural state of mind—calm, spacious, and free from conceptual elaboration—beyond artificial practices or effort. Dzogchen aims to realize this intrinsic brilliance, called "rigpa," as the ultimate truth, leading to spontaneous compassion and liberation. It views enlightenment as uncovering what is already present, rather than achieving something new, emphasizing simplicity, presence, and the effortless openness of awareness.
