The God of the Gaps
The "God of the Gaps" is a theological idea where gaps or unknowns in scientific understanding are attributed to divine intervention or God's work. Essentially, when science can’t yet explain something, some people assume it's because only a divine being can fill that gap. However, as scientific knowledge advances, these gaps often shrink or disappear. This concept can lead to the mistaken idea that God's role is only in the areas we haven't yet understood, potentially limiting the appreciation of both science and religion’s complementary insights.
