The Glyndŵr Rebellion

The Glyndŵr Rebellion (1400-1415) was a Welsh uprising led by Owain Glyndŵr against English rule in Wales. Frustrated by heavy taxes and political domination, Welsh nobles and commoners sought independence. Glyndŵr declared himself Prince of Wales and organized military campaigns, forging alliances and challenging English authority. Although ultimately unsuccessful in achieving full independence, the rebellion sparked Welsh national identity and highlighted regional resistance to English control. It remains a significant event in Welsh history, symbolizing a fight for sovereignty and cultural identity.
