The Gap Theory
The Gap Theory suggests that there is a time interval between God’s initial creation in Genesis 1:1 and the subsequent six-day creation account starting in Genesis 1:2. Proponents believe this "gap" could encompass a vast period of geological ages, during which catastrophic events (like the fall of Lucifer) occurred, explaining fossil records and geological formations. This theory aims to reconcile scientific findings about Earth's age with biblical scripture, proposing that the earth might be much older than a literal reading of the Genesis days suggests, while still affirming the divine creation story.
